I might be overly excited about tonights blog…

You know that feeling when you are walking out to your car in the parking lot and step on something. You lean down and pick up a piece of paper, and that piece of paper happens to be a winning lottery ticket?

Yeah me neither, but this weekend’s engagement session with Annalou + Luis felt like hitting the jackpot. Not to mention the fact that these two have the “good genes” as my mom would put it (aka they are gorgeous). These two cuties stepped out of the car styled head to toe in the most boss outfits. I am a sucker for a flowy floral dress!

Oh and they brought a puppy. For those who don’t know me that well, let me introduce you to my life’s priorities in order: Jesus (my main man), My husband Damion (my main squeeze) and Puppies. Yep. You read that right. Puppies. SO imagine my excitement when they bring out Hazel Grace, the most adorable blue eyed babe. I bet you can still hear the obnoxious squeals and puppy cooing.

The Location…

Sunny Acres Lodge made the absolute perfect backdrop for our sunset engagement session. AND BONUS – Annalou + Luis are actually getting married there later this year. So when Annalou suggested that we photograph their session there, I was all about it! I mean y’all this venue is nothing short of spectacular. They have the most beautiful fields, and gorgeous scenery. You can really tell that they put a lot of thought into every little detail on the property, from the string lights to the etherial driftwood arches. It is a photographers dream.

The laughs…

I was trying my darnest to keep it together without bursting out in laughter the entire session because man, Luis is a trip! A thing you should know about Luis, he normally wears glasses and decided to take them off for the pictures which was great, except for the fact that he literally couldn’t see which made for some hilarious first few photos. But all joking aside, you can tell that this man really loves his lady. He is so proud to walk with her on his arm, and I mean can you blame him?! Annalou is a complete babe and not only is she gorgeous on the outside – but she is also a phenomenal person. She is a multi-talented make up artist, dancer and kick butt media specialist.

Their love story…

Their love story started in church, and soon blossomed into real genuine friendship. That friendship transformed into a legacy of love that can be seen by anyone who meets them. So with all this talk about their love, you might be wondering how Luis popped the question to Annalou. Well I have to say, it might just be my favorite part of this blog post yet. Luis proposed to her on stage at Blackwood Studios dance recital. IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. Her friends, her family, her students. Everyone she cared about was there to witness the moment when he decided to put a ring on it. Cue the gushy AWEs! – But wait, not only were all her friends and family there, Luis’s sister Darlene captured a video of the whole thing! Talk about preserving some serious life moments right?! Geesh – I could barely even remember what Damion had said to me from the moment that he got down on one knee! Ha! Speaking of proposal videos, stay tuned and read all the way to the bottom for a BONUS VIDEO of her proposal (which she has so graciously allowed me to share with you all!)
